Setting Up Bleed and Trim
At Colorfast, we offer printing that extends to the edge of your chosen page size. For the best results, we recommend setting up your print file with an extra 3mm of image bleed on all sides of your print. Trim marks should be placed outside the bleed area*. If you're unable to provide bleed or trim marks, ensure that any important text or elements are not positioned too close to the edges.
* Note that image bleed refers to extra image or background color that extends beyond the print area, and adding extra white space does not qualify as bleed.
No Trim Marks?
If you cannot provide bleed or trim marks, we will print your file slightly larger (creating 1-2mm of bleed) and then trim off the excess to achieve the correct finished size. To avoid important elements being trimmed off, ensure that they are at least 6mm away from the edges.
